How Amazon MGM Studios can save over 30K hours on production with Kaedim

Why this matters for animation teams
To understand the real-world impact of the 31 hours saved per asset, we compared the market-average production times and hourly artist rates to the actual time Kaedim spent creating the three assets in this study.
About the studio
Secret Level is an adult-animated anthology series on Amazon Prime Video produced by Blur Studio and Amazon MGM Studios. The show consists of 15 standalone short films, each telling an original story set within the world of a different video game franchise. We chose the Sifu episode (“Sifu: It Takes a Life”) as a case study because it represents a high bar for episodic animated production while requiring a large volume of high-quality characters, props, and environments to be created under tight timelines. The episode’s stylized yet grounded aesthetic demands consistency across modeling, texturing, and rigging, with assets built to hold up in close-up shots and action-heavy sequences. This makes it an ideal example to demonstrate how accelerated 3D asset production can significantly reduce turnaround time for characters and props—without compromising visual fidelity or stylistic cohesion—within a production-heavy animation pipeline.
Creating high-quality characters and props quickly within a compressed production schedule
Maintaining a cohesive visual style across all assets without time for extended look-dev
Late-stage creative changes requiring rapid updates to characters or props
High manual effort to deliver animation-ready models under tight deadlines
AI x artist-in-the-loop pipeline to create models faster without sacrificing quality
Consistent style and topology guidelines applied across all assets
Faster iteration cycles with quick previews and feedback loops
Reduced production time and cost while maintaining animation-ready visual quality
Kaedim's impact
What we built
Stylized Realism with Grit: Grounded proportions and believable anatomy paired with exaggerated silhouettes, emphasizing physicality, impact, and martial discipline.
Controlled Surface Wear: Purposeful texture breakup with scuffs, fabric wear, and material aging that suggest lived-in environments without overwhelming form readability.
Expressive Material Response: Pronounced specular hits on skin, leather, and polished surfaces, with material shifts reacting clearly to motion and lighting for a tactile, kinetic feel.
Focus on primary and secondary forms: Define clean, readable shapes and silhouettes before adding fine detail.
Keep bakes in mind: Sculpt with smooth transitions and avoid unnecessary noise so details transfer cleanly to low poly.

Our impact, for every part of the process
Traditionally, each stage of 3D asset production—geometry generation, mesh optimization, UV unwrapping, texturing, and revisions—takes about one full day of turnaround time. With Kaedim, these same stages are completed in a fraction of a day, often within a few hours or less. Across all stages shown, this results in an overall average of 1.7× faster total turnaround. These improvements come from Kaedim’s automation in reconstruction, UVs, texturing, and revision matching, accelerating what would normally take multiple days into a much shorter timeline.
On top of this per-asset speedup, Kaedim can process large batches of assets in parallel, further increasing throughput and compressing production schedules compared to traditional outsourcing teams.
